Kind of wondering.. Yeah, maybe the truck would look kind of buck-tooth without a bumper..

..it does look like it doesn't stick out as much, and therefore wouldn't be as likely to dig in and send the truck flipping... ??
Several of our group have them, I've had mine about a year. They are durable and I've never had digging in issues. You'll have to trim off the grill area of the body to about flush with the bottom of the headlight area to make it fit. Good choice for replacement, I believe they have a lifetime quarantee also--
