They are too long, you can't get the ride height down to a useable level. And the stiffest front spring is about the same stiffness as the stock rear spring, so you can't even really use the old AE front springs on the rear shocks. I suppose you could cut some coils off the old AE front springs to get the length better, but cutting coils make them even stiffer. And they rub on the 4x4 shock bodies anyway, the inside diameter is different.

I still think the best bet for ultimate adjustability is to change over to 1/8th scale BB shocks. Then you have plenty of piston and spring combinations available, as well as better rough track handling.
