That is really cool. Where did you get it? Is there a website about it? I don't have any experience with it, so I can only guess the problem may be that your motor doesn't have the power to make it shift to third. By second gear, it's stressed to the limit, and can't go faster to the point where 3rd engages. You can try making 3rd shift earlier...at lower rpm.
