Damn! I was runnin my 5.5T LRP/MMP 13/62 with 4 deg of boost and was hitting 170degrees, well today I threw n a fan on y heatsink and it lowerd the temps to 120. i bumped the timing up to 10deg's and my motor was hitting 160. The heatsink and fan does wonders.
Since no one seems to have tried some heavy diff fluids, I think I'll try out some 30k. Ill let you guys know what it does.
That really sounds like a road to thermal failure. You dropped 50 degrees with the fan and then bumped the timing to eat 40 of what you gained. Let the fan die and it only takes 30 degrees to put you at 200.
I try to deal with temps without relying on a fan. Hopefully that heatsink will save you in case of fan failure.
