In the old days of electric oval racing there was a pretty noticable difference in shortening your motor and battery wires. (This was back when ALL speed controls came as four wire affairs with twin possitive leads.) This was taking sometimes as much as 6"-12" of wire out of the equasion.

Today, with technoligy being what it is and with the way these things are set up, a difference of 1" is probably VERY slight but I'm willing to be there is a difference.
