I guess having it that way you can't accidently switch it on or off when reaching under the body for the switch... were did you mount yours?
draining more power? leds use very little power so i doubt its much.
what i can't figure is why a battery like a Life or Lipo can't be left plugged in

Im guessing that the switch is PIC based, and is always on (sleep mode) waiting for you to press the on button. this will drain the battier in time. im also guessing that its not going to check for voltage levels while its a sleep. (could be a problem for LIPO's)
Size wise, it would be nice to have something smaller, but im also guessing (i know i do a lot of guessing) that it has a capacitor, or a bunch of FETs that are powered to give you a constant output voltage if this is the case, not sure why they didnt have a voltage regulator included. Ive looked at making something like this, but for the price this switch is cheap.
