In regards of lab comparison, I can not comment as I do not work for any servo manufacture. Most of us folks can only rely on the data giving to us on websites. If these numbers aren't correct, I would hope there is some council that checks if these numbers are correct. But I doubt that!
One thing I can say that I did notice about my HV savox servos. When I set my EPA for Steering with no load to max out steering, once I added load, I no longer had full steering. This is in Truggy. I had to adjust EPA during load. I'm not sure if I had this problem with other servos.
$99 is Towers "advertised" price. But tower for Saver members has free shipping and $99 dollar orders get 15-20 bucks off(depending on coupon code used), so shipped to my door is 80 bucks for a 7954. Buy 2 or more and then bulk quantity discount is applied as well on top of any coupon code for even cheaper "per servo" cost.
Hitec servos are programmable. Hitec servos have programmable EPA,deadband,failsafe,torque limit,resolution,self testing/diagnostic function etc. Do you get those features with Savox?
Not sure what the issue was you had, but underload the torque limit function could have been set to well less of 100%. No way of knowing though what the case was without a Hitec programmer on hand.
Here at RCE we had testing done on the 1267 and 1268 servos and they were compared directly to a number of HV premium and sport Hitec servos. I went into detail on another thread concerning this, but in short, they have shown to be grossly overrated in their specs and draw considerably more power in the process and even some of the cheap Hitec "sport" servos outperformed them with "specs" that were half that of what Savox puts down on paper.
Also, not sure what Savox model your reffering to, but I know of no Savox that has 391oz. of torque at .10 transit speed, not that those specs are anywhere near accurate though if they follow tradition, lol. Savox uses a nice looking case, decent gears and bearing, but the coreless motors they use suck plain and simple, which is basically the heart of the servo itself and the most expensive component. This is where Savox cut a major corner.
