Old information on salt bath. Discharge with a light bulb until it becomes below 1volts per cell at rest in a fire safe location. Then toss it.

Salt water bath can cause the aluminum tabs to corrode off before discharge is completely done. Thus causing a "hot" battery with bad connections.
