Since I'm probably the only person to run them so far, I will have to answer. They are definitely softer than the rock hard JC stuff and should be good outdoors. They are about the same hardness as our other 1:10 scale closed cell foams and should work great indoors as well. I ran them outside at the PL test track and they performed better than expected.
