Also too short of a pressure line will cause you to start the engine with richer settings; then it will lean out as you run the tank down.

On a Nova having the idle gap set excessively high will also cause you to run the LSN too rich and when the engine gets to operating temp, it will come in with an elevated 'buzzing' or racing high-idle RPM.
