with or without it doesn't matter for the first initial break in tank your looking for a big idle gap to provide more air to engine which you will have to compensate with more fuel to get that steady idle your looking for. This will keep you from having a to lean condition which will damage your engine during first start up. To be on the safe side I would set idle gap and then rich en low speed 3-4 hours fire it up and then open idle gap until you can get it to idle on box small blips of throttle are OK. Just try to keep it running for first tank I Also preheat my engines to over 212*.
