If I may add something to assist in troubleshooting engine issues, something that I have seen more times than I can count, someone is having trouble with an engine, cussing it and blaming it I ask them to pull their exhaust header off and examine the gasket.
A leaking gasket will make it impossible to tune an engine correctly, so always, always check it out
