I use 60% tin 40% lead rosin core .050 electrical solder. There might be something better but its what I've had laying around. I believe you should be able to get it at your local hardware store, like ace hardware. You shouldn't need flux with rosin core. Don't forget to put the heat shrink on the wire before you start soldering good luck!
