I would try the rpm again now you've adjusted the mechanical timing... 2000 to me is just too low, and as the previous poster suggests, it's bogging the bottom end. As has been mentioned on here before, some motors just need a bit of mechanical timing to get them working properly, sounds like at -15 your had gone too far the other way.
