There will always be chattering for spool. It's something to do with resonance frequency since both wheels are locked and any slight variation in rotation mass would not get dissipated through differentials.
But if you put it down on the ground and run it, the problem will go away because overall ratation is slower, plus the tire act as a resonance damping for the spool. There are no known problem with the chatter, even when running in mod. The TRF driver Jilles said: "The chatter which you get running a spool is normal, when you drive you will not notice it anymore." from
