Seeing as you've gone to the trouble of having pieces machined, why not take the next step and have a mold made of the modified section? The trick will be doing this before a manufacturer does. With rapid prototyping and mold making becoming so commonplace a manufacturer could start whipping these things out in the thousands by supper time.
