Yes, the spool makes a big difference
Unfortantely Schumacher doesn't make a purpose built spool. We are running the front diff minus the diff balls with header card glued to the rings. Look in the manual for spool assembly, but just add the header card to the rings and face them toward the pulley.
I must admit that the stock driveshafts wont cut it with a spool and recommend Schumacher MIP or Ti-Racing CVDs.
