On the micro front I would really consider the Losi Micro Desert Truck. I have both it and the Micro T and while the Micro T is a wheelie machine and seems a little more nimble the Desert Truck is a lot easier to drive. Also it is quite a bit bigger than the Micro T. I personally think the 1/36 scale is much more fun indoors than the 1/18 (we have 3 Mini T in the house as well). Almost anything can be an obstacle when they are that small. We routinely have longest jump (including rollovers) just using the transition from tile to hardwood.
