The idea from Pietch to lower the maximum weight tells me he is on a far distance from the privateers. Getting 2400 gram with older cars using standard wheels is impossibe. OK, not quite impossible but very difficult what does make the gap between the pro's and privateers larger.
Great idea, 1/8 to 2400 grams and 1/10 to 1600.
I have to put 160 grams worth of ballast in my 1/10, all of this eats tires, fuel and causes extra wear on all the parts.
With a lower minimum weight designers are pushed to make the cars even more advanced.
Most of the somewhat competitive privateers switch to a next gen chassis when it's released if you ask me.
