Anyone elses input would be appreciated because I am by no means an Electrical engineer.

P.S.- Do you have your radio's EPA adjusted properly so you are not binding at steering end-points? Just curious if that might be causing the increased draw.
Thanks for the input. Yes my steering inputs are all adjsuted. I have been in the hobby for 25+ years but just got back into 1/10th scale again. I ran a B4 briefly in 2009 and 2010 and then was running micros from October to February. Got borred with them and sold them all to get my TLR 22.

As stated below I ran the Novak capacitor last night and the car didn't loose connection to my radio during any of races.
