What do you think (in general) about a ceramic coating on the piston of these motors? I work in a shop that builds sprint car engines and we coat the pistons in house so I can do it for free. Also we have a coating that we use on lifters etc to reduce wear... I was thinking about coating the crank pin...
Hi Jim.
We tryed it in the past to use ceramic coating on sleeves and piston-didn't work as good as we have now ( AL on Chrome).
Cranck pin coating might defenetly work. What is hardness of that coating? What is size of microcracks ( there will be microcracks)? How thick is coating? ( in your shop)
