From an electrical standpoint, the AC chargers have a more likely chance of power failure and heat failure since the converter is on-board. One decent CPU power supply can run up to 3-4 chargers depending on it's size. Easy for outdoor tracks with little or no AC power as well. Car batteries go a long ways.
