RC Old Man; the .8 shims were on top of the stock riser plate.

Besercoe: the most likely reason the bellcrank broke would be that the servo saver spring may be overtightened. Try backing it off a bit. I've never heard of one of those breaking.
Where are you trying to get traction? Off power, On power or all around?
