Ok, I measured the opening of the punch, and it's 0.0.76" ID, so roughly 5/64".

Btw, Cherryville, NC is dirt oval only. I found a forum for tracks in the Carolina's. There's quite a few of them. I've posted questions about nearly each location. I'll post my findings once I get responses.
