sure the goal is to get a hole so dirt can escape. On pre-glued wheels I just use some small wire cutter-type snips and cut a small v-shape. Some of the holes I felt were too big but don't seem to affect performance very much if at all. But I'm not good enough to tell anyway
AKA premounts already have the tire punched. Nice that AKA doesn't overlook the little details.
AKA stuff seems legit; I run a few of their tires and rims and really like them.
