The brushes that comes with the motor works pretty good, and with this particular motor, you have to make sure you find the right gear ratio. I gear mine around 7.6 with my Barracuda R2, and i get really good acceleration and top speed with the timing set at around 35 degrees, the brush wear was excellent too. When you're looking for replacement brushes, make sure they are the P-94 size
