Pretty much all new 8ights come with the HD Diff cases so the only way to put it together incorrectly is to have the spacers facing the wrong way... The beveled edges must face outwards or the gears will not sit correctly... Had this same thing happen to me...
Also if you rebuilt the whole bulkhead and removed the cvd from the pinion make sure you push the pinion as far as it will go into the cvd and tighten it down or you will cook your ring/pinion within a couple laps...
