I can't comment on the quality of that radio as I have never even seen it, much less used it.

However, I do have a radio theory. Buy the best one you can possibly afford.

Many parts are short lived and disposable. So it make sense to try and save money on things like tires, bodies, motors, etc. when you are having to replace them all the time anyway. But a good radio should last you for many years, perform better than the cheapest ones, go in many cars, etc. etc. It is not the best place to skimp, so go for the best one you can afford.

So if $17 is all you can afford, give it a shot. If you actually have a job, get something else.
