I prefer running a P2K, but if the track is really slippery, I'll go to an MVP since it has less low rpm torque. Most of the tracks that I race on don't have really long straightaways since stock sedans also run on them. I usually run 5.00:1 with the P2K and 6.25:1 or 5.77:1 on the MVP. The track layout changes from race to race, so I usually don't run the same gear ratio every race.
We share the track as well. e run Nitro,MINI, OPEN, STOCK, F-1 all on the same course. If my 100 / 25 doesn't seem like it accelerates with my RS 540, I'll go to 100/21 and see how it works. If all fails I'll throw in that P2k2 with a 100/17 and see how she handles.
