thanks for the info., that's a pity. Here I meant the spec-r gear housing. I was hoping that since they took the trouble to mold a new case they could have changed the internal ratio too. It would have been more elegant and offered more protection to boot. Of course there may not be a need/demand for a different internal ratio and why they didn't make it.

Just leave the pinion/spur cover off and you will have no issue with fitting large pinions. Most high end on-road cars do not have covers over pinions/spurs and if you need to achieve a large rollout then you will need to leave the cover off.

if your pinion is really big its a bit difficult to get the meshing correct. can be done but pinion will be slightly offset to spur gear
