I've been getting my TT-01 setup since I received it a month or two ago. I haven't had a chance to run it with a hotter brushless motor (still have the silver can 540) but have found some good info online. Can't post a link but Google "tt-01 budget racer" and check out the Ultimate Tamiya website.
This guy has some good information on the TT-01 and what he has found successful in terms of upgrades and motor/esc combination. I have heard from multiple sources that the drive train in the TT-01 is not that strong...something to consider when purchasing a motor.
