Right please someone put me out of my misery, take a look at this......



Looking at this diagram I am now getting myself all messed up, I think I understand the fact that the rotational speed is controlled by the Frequency of the electrical pulse around the circuit and that by adding 'Timing' we are in effect pre energising the 'next' pair of coils, but looking at the diagram I can see that 2 coils are always energised, the pulse just moves around the circuit. This would mean, if I understand the diagram right, that in Brushless applications, 60 Degrees can be put into the advance as the 'just passed' attracting coil is de energised. Meaning I guess (correct me please) that, as originally commented on, the physical limit to advance is 60 Degrees in a 3 pole setup?

Please someone with a PhD help me out on this as it is really getting on my wick trying to work it out !!!
