I totally disagree with this. Go to your local track, and ask everyone there what brand they run and where they get their parts from. You would be surprised at how many people say online.
First thing is if you want to own and operate a local hobby shop, you better cater to the bashers and newbies.
Why do you think most hobby shops carry traxxas stuff? HPI? Because that is what sells.
I'm working on going into the RC business myself. And my main focus is a track. Because you really need the track along with the hobby shop. I want to rent vehicles too, but they will be slashes. And I want to promote Stock SCT racing because it's affordable, easy to use, and will attract new people.
