Greetings everyone,

I’ve decided to take the liberty of writing a race report to cover the racing action from Saturday at Revolution Raceway. A new jump track layout welcomed racers, incorporating both a crossover and the infamous “wall ride” banked corner in addition to the normal jumps, and it seemed to be well received by racers and spectators alike.

Starting with Stock Slash, Alex and Mike N ran a closely contested race resulting in less than one second separation at the finish between the two, and new racer Eric B rounding out the top 3 for the class.

Stock Short Course was hotly contested as usual, with resident Hobbytown guru Jess S leading the race from flag to flag on brushed motor power after a restart due to a big turn 1 crash. RPM racing’s Wayne took 2nd place and Mark B rounded out the top 3 on the day.

Gearbox racing put on a great show, with RPM racing’s Wayne taking the win by less than 0.4 seconds over RPM Rich. Honorable mention goes to Evan B, as a young driver in a difficult open wheel class, he is getting faster and driving smoother every week.

Stampede racing saw Vaughn take TQ but RPM Rich take the win today, with Vaughn coming home 2nd and Katlyn B getting faster each week to bring home 3rd place points.

With the jumps set to the side, the road course classes were clear to turn up the heat and put some rubber down. Vintage Trans Am wasn’t raced this week due to a low car count, but I predict a fully packed A main next week as regular racers return and resident front wheel drive burnout king Josh S takes on the challenge of Trans Am racing.

Our Mini Cup class had 7 racers on the roster this week, and had Davin F take TQ in his BMW 2002, and put on a great race until one of his front wheels decided to exit stage left. This opened the door for Josh S in his front wheel drive Honda to slip by for the lead. He stayed on point until missing his turn in mark at the hairpin, allowing yours truly to zip inside and sneak by for the win. Corey B took 3rd place in his Renault A110.

Stock Sedan ran at a furious pace this week. Both Vaughn and Davin put the HEAT on in qualifying to relegate me back to a 3rd place starting position, but at the end of the race the order was Jeff, Davin, then Vaughn, with Davin & Vaughn finishing less than 0.5 seconds apart. Willy still owned fast lap of the day, set during a qualifying round.

Thanks everyone for attending! Thanks Willy for announcing & race director duties, and remember 3 or more cars make a class so bring your F1 cars! We have 2 on a regular basis and 2 more would be awesome.
Thanks!
Jeff – the guy that doesn’t drive an Xray.
