2300mah versus 4500mah has little to do with charging besides time - if the 4500 is the same cell count, it would just take longer. So you're charging with a 12v adapter that puts out 1200ma - that's just 1.2amps.


Are your 2300s 8cell packs? If they are, then your adapter should be able to charge them it'll just take more than 2x as long.
