I think you are correct on the original question, I think I've seen it discussed for charging the single cell micro copter batteries, the balancer connection is still recommended. But I'm not positive.
how would you connect a 1s in balance mode. i guess you would have to rig somthing? i have never seen a 1s balance connector. lol

i will try a storage with a pack that is over the 3.85v and see what that does. i won't be racing anytime soon, so i thought i would put all my packs in a storage mode. i just assumes that they would all be about the same resting voltage. but if they are different between charge and discharge, then i will have to make sure that i do my storage all the same way.
