Ah....eh....Try fashioning a spur cover, Metal spur is only gonna screw something else. I'd be damned if the 72t spur in my TC3 strips out anytime soon....standard kit spurs (in most kits) are tough as f*k.....Are you sure your'e getting a proper mesh? And I hope you are replacing them with Kimbrough

That happened to me once...except with 64p gears

While we are on the subject of gears: NEVER go 64 pitch!!! They strip even easier
