Where do you think I should start? i've heard that the 12 scall pan cars are the most challenging to drive and that the skills you learn running them can transfer to other types of cars. Is that true? Any recomendations on equipment will also be appreciated. Thanks for your help.

I would first consider where you can race the car.
The 1/12 scale, while able to run on pavement is much more at home on a smooth carpet track. So if that's availalbe it would be my sugestion. If you only have pavement racing and you know how to adjust a full suspension car, then look at the nitor touring cars.
An option would also be a WGT car. Basically it is a 10th scale version of the 1/12 scale car and can be driven inside on carpet as well as out side on the pavement.
As to your comment on driving a 1/12 scale, I would agree. Small car, big speed and power options, and very small changes makes a big difference.
