The solid axle is nice if you have to do braking at apexes after a high speed. Perhaps on smaller, tighter and more technical tracks... Not recommended if you have high speed sweepers. Slows the car down.
The ball diff on the other hand is pretty flexible. As this track that I'm going to race on has fast sweeping corners but with not much traction, the front ball diff is more beneficial to drivers of my calibre !
