Look around your local track, wherever that may be. How many new people are there that weren't 2 years ago. At most tracks it's a lot, and most drive SCT's. Would all those new people be there if the SCT didn' exist, probly not IMO. As said many times before they buy them because of the way the look, they're durable, and just plain bigger. If you don't like the class that's cool with me but for a lot of tracks it's kept the doors open giving the diehard buggy racers a place to run. Ask you local ST racers why they moved to SCT? If you had a core group of 6-8 ST racers and they all went over to running SCT's then SCT's didn't kill the class they did. That's another $.02 in the kitty
