FYI - one piece of advice I heard in regards to the topic.
"If you are going to take the time to make sure the fuel isn't getting warm from the top, make sure it's not getting cooked from the bottom"
Point being, use aluminum tape and put some on the side of the tank and the bottom to insulate it from the pipe.
