The CA glue thing for carpet really only applies to the outside row of tread on the tire. Applying to the sidewall isn't necessary as the it won't roll under if the outside row of tread block is glued and allowed to slide a little.
How have you got your steering set? I ran my M-03 at 55-65% on sticky carpet. Made things a lot easier.
