I err on the side of caution. I put mine in a liposack and then store the whole thing in an ammo box. I keep the lid closed, but I've yet to put a "damaged or suspect" lipo in the box. I suppose if I did, I would leave the box unlatched with the the lipo in the sack inside.

If I ever encounter a situation where a have a "puffed" lipo, I will be getting rid of it right away with the following disposal technique:

Now there also seems to be some confusion as to whether this works if you have not made an opening in the batterys covering. I really can't argue it either way. With the hard case batterys I don't know how you would do this. I don't know that I want to do this lol. I think the key to the whole thing is discharging the pack. From what I've read, if its too charged then the salt water will eat the tabs off the pack before its fully neutralized and discharged.
