you dont have to do all that just buy or make an adapter. I kept all the stock wiring in mine and just made a tamiya to turnigy lipo plug. I run a 4s 5000mah turningy lipo. Nothing irritates me more than shabby wiring or rewiring.
Tamiya plugs arnt made to handle the voltage of a 4s or even a 3s lipo and will melt. I cut out the old wires and just rewired the battery connection from the box to a new deans plug. No wiring job looks worse than adapters
