Oh, it matters! If your going to dump $300+ on something, it shouldn't make you frown everytime you look at it. It obviously matters, because the companies spend just as much time designing the case as they do designing the features. I know serveral Mars owners who wont move up to the Helios because the thing looks so hidious! So it does matter. Especially here in the US where people are more worried about looking good than anything else!
On another note...why would anyone think something is wrong with the Multiplex 707? It looks pretty good to me, and is light as can be!
