I asked what those numbers meant and somebody chided to say that was utterly waste of time to know what it meant !

Perhaps it's good to bring that subject up again and probably have people like Rene C answer it.
On the back of my box one of the codes is specifically labeled "Batch: D495".
So I'm sure if you could get someone to say what batch numbers have the updated parts, you would know which kit to buy.
On the back of my other Serpent kits, they each have a batch number.
I'm not sure if we could use this method around the world, or just here in the US.
