You get to go home early if in the lower mains. As a pit dad, the e-main means we can go home earlier.
Back in in the socal raceway days, we got to go home after 11pm. The turn-out was huge and that meant a long night. Also, back in those days, cutting the comm, discharge cells and charging kept you busy. Now with lipo and brushless, waiting is the only thing to do.
