I've raced my TB in 10.5 (as well as 13.5) and it handled it well.
The sound you get from the gearbox is wicked!
Yes definitely go with the metal out drives and the most important part make sure you shim the ring and pinion correctly. I would also recommend just a tiny bit of lube on the gear teeth as well. (17.5 I run them dry)
