The way I understand it is:

1. The X2 is an old platform, everyone knows that.
2. Jay has a car designed.
3. Hong Nor wouldn't produce it, they want to stay with the X2 platform...
4. Jammin has a contract with Hong Nor for a while longer so he can't get his car built by another company.
5. Jay has a full size race car career going.
6. Lots of new competition on the market so maybe it is a good time to bail out for a while.
7. Jammin severely cut the travel race team for last season so drivers bailed out when they could.
8. Chad stayed on maybe for contract reasons, maybe he thought things would turn around. Obviously they didn't or haven't yet.

Kind of all makes sense, but just hearsay.
