Not trying to knit pick, and I don't want to upset anyonel, but I gotta mention the Go-Tech thing.
Go-Tech as a company no longer exists. The original Go-Tech motors of some years ago have nothing to do with the current motors we are talking about now from the GO Engine Co - commonly known as GO. Different kettle of fish all together.
Just a little point, but I feel an important one, as the original Go-Tech motors were not that crash hot, and a lot of people out there still relate the bad name Go-Tech had with the GO motors being sold today. This is a lot of the reason for people bashing GO motors on here and other forums. They are simply mis-informed and don't realise it.
Arghh - got that of my chest now
okay then. Here's what I've got- coral colored 3 port rb modded, then orange head 7 port with a mg-66 crank, stock, orange 7 port stock, gxr 3port [going to racer22 for mod, gen 5 5port going to racer 22 for mod. All the engines have the go red badge carbs. They work and all engines are at almost same settings. Only a little touch here and there. Oh and of course 2 mg-66's I am really excited to have rex mod an engine for me. For some reason I love the 3 ports. On a small track I can run away from others,on a big track it runs out of legs.[not by much] But in the tech sections I can keep up or pass. I have had the new gxr series 5-7 ports but never drove them. Sold and made money. So I may be behind the times here but I found a system that works for me. So as far as the old go-tecs to me they are still very competitive at my level. In my very first race series I learned a valuable lesson from a pro= if you can't keep all 4 wheels on the ground you will always finish way back in the pack. #2 wheel spin equals lose of power, wasting fuel. They threw me in the intermediate class where I finished the series 8th over all. I only had one flame out. Thats when I learned the trick for seals using fuel tubing[thank you Grizz] and sealed every engine after cleaning before I ever fired them up.
